The New Journalism Collective

Our Mission.

In writing our stories, we begin by listening.

You told us how the news made you feel. Overwhelmed. Anxious. Hopeless. And we hear you.

The New Journalism Collective is an experimental, democratic platform for reporting unexamined perspectives across the country. We tell the stories based on our values: transparency, empathy, context and community. This isn’t institutionalized news. This isn’t click-driven sensationalism. You describe what you want to know, and we will tell you what you need to know.

Shortly put, we are:

  • Upfront.
  • Student-driven.
  • Mad as hell.
  • The next generation.
  • Your voice.

Who are we?

TNJC was co-founded by high school seniors Josh Mysore (from Dallas, TX) and Joshua Yang (from Palo Alto, CA). Both are JCamp ’19 and Free Spirit ’20 alumni.
